do you ever wonder if shiro just sees pidge out on the corner of his eye, and she looks so much like her brother that for a split second he thinks she’s matt. and for a brief moment they’re not deep space, so far from earth, they’re still at the garrison and kerberos never happened and he wasn’t abducted by the galra and forced to fight and matt and sam are okay and everyone on earth is safe and every being in the universe is not in danger of the galra empire and everything is okay and as it should be… but then he realizes it’s pidge, and he realizes where he is and who he’s with and what they have to do and everything just rushes back, quick and hard, and hits him like a ton of bricks and it’s overwhelming and just… and his team, everyone, recognizes this and does their best to comfort him and make sure he’s okay, just like he looks out for them. i need a shiro group hug like pronto, give that man all the hugs tbh
